Bruce A. Emig, a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member who died in May 2013 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, has been memorialized by a scholarship at the college. Emig’s wife, Cindy, endowed the scholarship in his memory. Emig was an assistant professor of HVAC technology who had been employed at Penn College since 1989.

The start of the year brings a first for Pennsylvania College of Technology: the selection of twin brothers as Students of the Month. Chosen for the Student Government Association honor are Cody E. In 2012-13, Penn College and the Penn College Foundation received in-kind donations of equipment, technology, materials and supplies from business and industry for instructional purposes valued at $651,527 and cash donations totaling $969,708, for a total of $1,621,235. Donors included 758 alumni and 450 employees, who together contributed $381,582.

Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s basketball teams continued their seasons last week with the women going 1-2 and the men 0-3, but battling tough. Wildcat wrestlers, meanwhile, got things rolling a week ago Sunday competing in the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic.
