Invasive species such as autumn olive, exotic honeysuckle and ailanthus know no boundaries as where to take root. Thanks to a combined effort by the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Pennsylvania College of Technology forestry students, fewer invasives are likely to survive on State Game Lands #252 near the Schneebeli Earth Science Center.
The director of the Children's Learning Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology was selected to receive the Director of the Year Award from the National Coalition for Campus Children's Centers.

A contest to select this year's Mardi Gras King and Queen in Williamsport has resulted in a big boost for a scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Mike Morgan, a former Penn College student, won the Mardi Gras King/Queen contest in March as the nominee for Franco's Lounge.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team made a strong showing at the Eastern Regional Intercollegiate Archery Championships this past weekend. Freshmen Brandon Allison (Roaring Spring) and Kelvin Dewalt (Easton) and senior Zack Plannick (Coraopolis) took top spots in men's recurve, bow hunter and compound, respectively.
Penn College junior Garrett Hornung (Emporium) was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending April 17. Hornung hit .636 (7-11) with three doubles, five RBI and 10 runs. He helped the Wildcats to a 3-1 week, sweeping Penn State York and splitting with Penn State Mont Alto. This is Hornung's first PSUAC honor this season.
Penn College construction management students finished second overall and brought home first-place honors in the Project Management category among 24 teams in last week's Associated Builders and Contractors Student Chapter Construction Management Competition in San Antonio. Representing the college's Construction Management Association were Nicholas J. Colaric, of Eighty Four; John M.
Pennsylvania College of Technology finished third overall, and 10 of its students placed in their respective events during the Mid-Atlantic Woodsman's Meet at Penn State Mont Alto. "It was definitely an opportunity that the students will never forget," said Erich R. Doebler, laboratory assistant for forest technology in the college's School of Natural Resources Management.
