Children's show of hands expresses appreciation for police

    "Thank you for keeping us in safe hands!" reads a personalized card from the Bears and Birds that was presented to Pletz (left) and Miller ...... who gathered with the preschoolers during a special visit to the Children's Learning Center.Penn College Police Chief Chris E. Miller and Lt. David C. Pletz stopped by the Dunham Children's Learning Center on Wednesday to receive a special "Thank you" from the preschool classrooms. The department was in the news late last month after shots were fired at an officer responding to an off-campus call, but center officials noted their gratitude predates that incident. "After the event that took place a couple of weeks ago, it has been long overdue to show our support for those that take care of us so that we can be safe at school," CLC Director Linda A. Reichert said.
