Shultz Jr., director of educational and emerging technologies at Penn College, received the Williamsport Crosscutters' "Military Salute" at Thursday night's final home game of the 2022 regular season – a matchup against the Trenton Thunder that kept the local squad's championship hopes alive.

Shultz, who served from 1993-99 as an electronics warfare technician, was stationed in Sasebo, Japan, on the USS Belleau Wood. He is a member of Post 1, American Legion, in Williamsport and serves as the senior vice commander of Leroy O. Buck Post 7863, Veterans of Foreign Wars, DuBoistown.

The 21-year employee was the most recent Wildcat to be nominated for the honor, which includes an on-field presentation prior to the game and ceremonial first-pitch recognition.

David E. Tice, ROTC instructor for the Bald Eagle Battalion. He has served in the Army for more than 33 years, which includes four deployments. He is leaving for his fifth (and hopefully final) deployment this fall.

The program, in partnership with EQT Corp., a natural gas producer, has paid tribute to active and retired military members at all 40 of this season's games in Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.

The Crosscutters clinched the second-half title in the MLB Draft League on Sunday and will travel to
Monongalia County (W.Va.) Ballpark for a one-game playoff against the West Virginia Black Bears on Tuesday.
