B.R. Kreider & Son establishes two Penn College scholarships
B.R. Kreider & Son Inc., based in Manheim, has funded the “Pin Oak Service Center, a Sister Company of B.R. Kreider & Son, Inc. Diesel Technology Scholarship,” and the “Pin Oak Service Center, Automotive Technology Scholarship.”
Preference for the diesel technology scholarship and the automotive technology scholarship will be given to students who have completed an internship with B.R. Kreider & Son Inc. and are recommended by the dean or department head.
If no candidates can be identified using those criteria, secondary preference will be given to new incoming students enrolled in the diesel technology and automotive technology programs who have a permanent residence in Pennsylvania, Delaware or Maryland.
Each scholarship will be awarded annually in the spring semester.
“We appreciate the commitment B.R. Kreider & Son has shown to our student success,” said Elizabeth R. Biddle, director of corporate relations for the college. “Graduates of these programs fill skilled-technician needs for which companies like B.R. Kreider are hiring. These scholarships demonstrate the company’s commitment to hands-on technology education and a valued partnership between Penn College and B.R. Kreider.”
“B.R. Kreider and Pin Oak Service Center are committed to the future of our workforce,” said Brent Kreider, president of B.R. Kreider & Son. “One way to demonstrate that commitment is to help our skilled technicians earn a ‘degree that works.’ We are excited to partner with Penn College to help provide opportunity and development for the students of Penn College and future team members of Pin Oak Service Center.”
