Ross Becomes Top Women's Basketball Scorer at Penn College

Alicia Ross became the career scoring leader for the Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team and three Wildcat winter sports teams posted a combined 2-7 record in action last week, with the men’s basketball team going 2-1.
Men's Basketball
On Wednesday, the Wildcats used a 48-point second half to turn back Bryn Athyn, 79-53. Ben Sosa, of Loyalsock Township, led Penn College with 22 points; Erik Eichinger, of Villanova, added 18 points and Jesse White, of Harrisburg, came through with 13 points and a team-high 16 rebounds.
At SUNY Poly on Saturday, Penn College dropped a 74-52 decision. Eichinger and Carson Gervis, of Taneytown, Maryland, each scored 11 points for the Wildcats.
On Sunday at SUNY Cobleskill, Penn College won, 75-62, to go to 7-12 overall and 5-9 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. The seven wins is the most in a season since 2010-11 for the Wildcats. Eichinger led Penn College scorers with 24 points and Sosa added 22. White topped the team with 14 rebounds.
In North Eastern Athletic Conference action this week: At Penn State Berks (4-12 overall, 4-8 NEAC through Sunday), 7 p.m. Wednesday; at St. Elizabeth (7-11, 6-8), 3 p.m. Saturday.
Last meeting vs. Penn State Berks: On Jan. 12, won, 84-82. Sosa scored 20 points and Eichinger 19.
Last meeting vs. St. Elizabeth: On Jan. 21, lost, 85-83. Eichinger scored 25 points.
Statistically speaking through Sunday: White was seventh in the NEAC with 7.6 rebounds per game and Delgado sixth with 4.2 assists per game.
NEAC South Division standings through Sunday: Gallaudet University 13-1, Lancaster Bible College 7-7, Penn State Abington 6-6, St. Elizabeth 6-8, Bryn Athyn College 5-7, Penn College 5-9, Penn State Berks 4-8, Wilson College 4-10.

In a tightly contested conference encounter on Wednesday that closed out a six-game homestand, Penn College fell to Bryn Athyn, 48-42. Ross, a senior from Williamsport, led the Wildcats in scoring with 14 points, giving her 1,400 for her PC career, and Jane Herman, of Greencastle, had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
On Saturday at SUNY Poly, Ross scored 23 points and became Penn College’s all-time leading women’s scorer with 1,423 points – one more than the previous mark of 1,422 set by Jamie Steer, of South Williamsport – although the Wildcats lost, 91-60. Herman added 16 points for Penn College.
At SUNY Cobleskill on Sunday, Penn College fell, 56-46, to drop to 3-15 overall and 3-11 in the NEAC. Herman led Penn College with 15 points and 14 rebounds while Gwendolyn Lavelle, of Pocono Summit, scored 11 points.
In North Eastern Athletic Conference action this week: At Penn State Berks (4-10 overall, 4-8 NEAC through Sunday), 7 p.m. Wednesday; at St. Elizabeth (12-7, 10-4), 3 p.m. Saturday.

On the road facing a strong York College team on Friday, Penn College lost, 50-0.
Hosting once-beaten Scranton on Sunday, the Wildcats fell, 38-12, to drop to 0-10 overall. Posting wins by decision for Penn College were Chase Andrus, of Mill Hall, at 133 pounds, and Tanner Leid, of New Holland, at 165. Dylan Otis, of Towanda, won by fall at 285.
