Kohler Named Director of Radiography at Penn College

Pennsylvania College of Technology has appointed Regis C. Kohler, of Montoursville, to lead the college’s radiography program.

Kohler began his employment with the college as clinical coordinator of radiography in 1987. He then served as an associate professor in the program for 26 years, from 1990 until his appointment to director in 2016.

“We are pleased that Regis has accepted this position as director of the radiography program,” said Gerri F. Luke, dean of business and hospitality. “His appointment has been very warmly received by students and alumni, as well as our affiliated hospital representatives. We are very confident his vast experience, professionalism and knowledge will provide exceptional leadership for the program.”



Kohler is a registered radiologic technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. In addition to his Penn College experience, he served as a radiologic technologist for Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, Windber Hospital, and Broad Top Area Medical Center.

He received his certificate in radiography from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. He served as a student teacher in Lee Hospital’s School of Radiologic Technology while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in natural sciences-health related professions: education from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He earned a master’s degree in instructional technology from Bloomsburg University and has taken doctoral classes in workforce education and development from Penn State.

Kohler has served as a textbook reviewer and provided expert witness testimony. He’s also a frequent presenter at Penn College events such as Career Day and Health Careers Camp, both designed for K-12 students.

Penn College offers an associate degree in radiography that can be continued to a bachelor’s degree in applied health studies: radiography concentration. The bachelor-degree courses can be completed online.
