Retired Penn College Employee Establishes Scholarship Fund
Begun by Juliann T. Pawlak, a 27-year employee who retired in 2011, the scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better in one of the following Penn College majors: building science and sustainable design: architectural technology concentration, building science and sustainable design: building construction technology concentration, civil engineering technology, residential construction technology and management: architectural technology concentration, electronics and computer engineering technology, and engineering design technology.
“I am tremendously appreciative of Julie’s thoughtfulness in establishing this scholarship,” said Robb Dietrich, executive director of the Penn College Foundation. “Julie has been a consistent supporter of the college, both as an employee and since she has retired. Planning for a future gift from her estate further demonstrates her desire to help Penn College students succeed and, for this, the entire Penn College community is grateful.”
Pawlak was employed at the college in a variety of capacities, including as a mathematics instructor and tutor.
Eventual awards from the fund, which is building to endowment, will give preference to students who graduated from a Lycoming County high school.
