Frontier Communications Donates $5,000 to College’s K-12 Efforts
The company's contribution, delivered by Jennifer Sherwood, a Frontier enterprise account executive, was made through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program in support of the college’s SMART Girls and Penn College NOW programs.
SMART Girls (Science and Math Applications in Real-World Technologies) gives young women in grades 9 to 11 the opportunity to experience math and science as a foundation for careers in technology. Penn College NOW enables high school students to earn college credits through dual-enrollment courses taught by approved teachers at their home high schools or career and technology centers.
Both programs are recognized as “innovative educational programs” under the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s EITC program, of which the Penn College Foundation has been an approved participant since 2011.
Frontier Communications Corp. offers broadband; voice; satellite video; wireless Internet data access; data-security solutions; specialized bundles for residential customers, small businesses and home offices; and advanced communications for medium and large businesses in 27 states.
