Ceramics Instructor Exhibits Work at East Stroudsburg University
The exhibit, titled “David Stabley: Paintings and Works in Clay,” offered an array of ceramic sculptures, mixed-media paintings and pencil drawings. Stabley also presented workshops on his carving and sculptural techniques prior to the exhibit’s opening.
Stabley previously exhibited at East Stroudsburg University in 1998. He has shown his artwork throughout the United States and has had his creations featured in a variety of arts magazines. He has attained numerous awards and honors throughout his artistic career and received grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts in 1989 and 1999.
Stabley joined the Penn College faculty in 2009 as an adjunct instructor teaching wood sculpture; he became a full-time faculty member in 2011, also instructing ceramics. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art from the University of Nebraska, as well as a bachelor’s degree in studio art from Millersville University.
