Katie Kratzer Named PSUAC Softball 'Newcomer of the Year'

Katie L. KratzerPenn College's Katie L. Kratzer, of Selinsgrove, has been named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Softball Newcomer of the Year for her efforts as a rookie in the 2013 season. She was also named First-Team, All-Conference. Both awards are voted on by the coaches of the PSUAC and are based on performance throughout the season. Kratzer – a first-year student in the School of Health Sciences' pre-radiography major – hit .404 playing in all 30 games and leading the Lady Wildcats with 17 RBIs. She totaled 12 extra-base hits, including two triples and a home run; had 12 multi-hit games; and notched a career-high four hits against Penn State Scranton.
