State Senate Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi (R-Chester) joined Sen. Gene Yaw (R-Loyalsock) on campus Tuesday in unveiling legislation designed to make natural gas service available to more Pennsylvanians. At a morning press conference in Penn College's Thompson Professional Development Center, the legislators announced the introduction of two bills to foster expansion of gas distribution to unserved and underserved residential, commercial and industrial sites. The announcement was followed by a tour of the college’s Energy Technology and Education Center near Allenwood, a collaboration with the Lycoming County Department of Public Safety to provide hands-on training for workers in the natural gas industry and emergency-response personnel.
