The Penn College women’s volleyball team has been named co-champions (with Penn State Fayette) of the Penn State University Athletic Conference. The decision, which comes a week after the scheduled final was postponed due to Superstorm Sandy, was made by the conference volleyball committee after attempts to reschedule were unsuccessful due to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national tournament occurring later that week.  The championship is the second for the Wildcats, having captured their first in 2004, while Fayette wins its fifth consecutive and seventh overall. Fayette was the regular-season champion, going undefeated and into the playoffs as the top seed. They swept No. 4 Penn State Hazleton 3-0 in the semifinals. Penn College finished the regular season in second place and took down No. 3 Penn State Brandywine 3-1 in the other semifinal.
