The Gardasil vaccine for human papillomavirus is available free to walk-ins at the Student Health Center (CC, Room 150) from 8-11 a.m. and 2-7 p.m. daily. Gardasil is a vaccine indicated for the prevention of cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers; precancerous or dysplastic lesions; and genital warts caused by HPV Types 6, 11, 16 and 18. The vaccine is free and available to all male and female students, staff and faculty, spouses and dependents between the ages of 18 and 26. Gardasil is given in a series of three injections: The second dose is given two months after the first; the third is administered sixth months after the first. It is important to get all three doses to get the best protection. Those who already have started the Gardasil series may continue and/or complete it through Student Health Services, provided the dose coincides with the vaccine schedule (verification of previous dose is required).
