Wildcats share end-of-season basketball honorsFour Penn College athletes were among those spotlighted when the United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced its end-of-season men's and women's basketball awards, including All-American and All-Academic teams. Junior Leroy Joiner (Williamsport) earned men's basketball first-team All-American status, while senior Greg Solyak (Lititz) was named an honorable mention. In addition, seniors Phillip Kaylor (Lebanon) and Samantha Wallish (Harrisburg) were named to the men's and women's basketball All-Academic teams, respectively. This is Joiner's third All-American selection. This year, he led the Wildcats in scoring and rebounding, and twice was a USCAA "Player of the Week" selection. Solyak, Penn College's all-time leading scorer with 1,626 points, was second on the team in scoring. The All-American Team is selected by members of the USCAA and is based on athletic performance throughout the season; the All-Academic Team comprises student-athletes with a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average or higher.
