Doug M. SherryDoug M. Sherry, part-time instructor of sociology at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently published two book reviews in academic journals.

His review of "American Cinema of the 1970s: Themes and Variations," a book edited by Lester D. Friedman and published by Rutgers University Press, appeared in the Journal of Popular Culture in October. The Journal of Popular Culture, printed bimonthly, is the official publication of the Popular Culture Association.



Sherry's review of "Up Against the Wall: Violence in the Making and Unmaking of the Black Panther Party," a book written by Curtis J. Austin and published by University of Arkansas Press, was published in the Journal of American Culture in September. Produced quarterly, the Journal of American Culture is the official publication of the American Culture Association.

Sherry holds a doctorate from the University of Maryland. He earned a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin and a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
