Instructional Technology Grant Recipients Announced

The Instructional Technology Grant award committee is pleased to announce the recipients of this year's awards.
According to Jennifer McLean, director of instructional technology and distance learning, it was a challenging process to identify the winning proposals.
"We were fortunate to have a number of excellent applications. It was a difficult but rewarding process to select the 'best of the best' to be awarded from the $30,000 grant fund," she said.
The recipients of the 2006 Instructional Technology Grant are:
- Digital MathSandra Carlson, instructor of mathematics, Integrated Studies. $4,500
- Active Physics Learning With Tablet PCsDavid S. Richards, associate professor of physics, Integrated Studies, $18,500
- Physician Assistant Personal Digital Assistants Joseph Mileto,instructor of physician assistant, Health Sciences, $7,000
The award recipients will work with Instructional Technology/Distance Learning and Information Technology Services to purchase, install and implement the hardware and software components of their grant proposals over the next several months. The technology initiatives will be incorporated into classroom instruction for the 2006-07 academic year.
After the initial implementation period, the grant recipients will present Academic Affairs Professional Development seminars summarizing their efforts and project outcomes.
