I-CAR Training Gets Under Way for Fall Semester
The Fall 2005 slate of Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair training has begun in earnest at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Training kicked off about a week and a half ago with I-CAR's newest training program (GEN01, "Collision Repair Overview") for the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.Monday evening's class (ALT01, "Electric and Hybrid Vehicles") was hosted by Alfred M. Thomas, head of the collision repair department and an I-CAR instructor. Like the earlier session, it waswell-recieved by local technicians that attended.
The departmenteven managed to have Toyota's Prius hybrid vehicle for students to examine. Toyota requires that technicians be trained on its hybrid prior to working on the vehicles.
The fall schedule at Penn College runs until Dec. 16, and this series of classes is Chevrolet-specific andincludes classes like "Fundamentals of Collision Repair," "Damage Analysis" and several aluminum offerings, and closes with the 12th and final class (CPS01, "Corrosion Protection").
