Warner, student writer%2Fphotographer)The following award-winners have been announced for the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team, which won the 2004 Commonwealth Campus Athletic Conference championship and finished with an overall record of 21-2:

Co-MVPs: Maria McNett (sophomore/Canton) and Maria Bova freshman/Bethlehem Catholic); Rookie of the Year: Janell Thompson (freshman/Northern Potter); Most Inspirational: Amber Geckle (junior/Indian Valley); Most Improved: Emily Weaver (junior/Ephrata); Most Dedicated: Maria McNett (sophomore/Canton)

Impressive stats were compiled by several players, as well:

Best All-Around Play: Sara Gamble (freshman/Northern Potter); Impressive All-Around Play: Natalie Plavi (freshman/Elderton); Best Defense (180 digs): Maria Bova (freshman/Bethlehem Catholic); Most Blocks (55 blocks, 17 roofs) and Most Kills (174): Janell Thompson (freshman/Northern Potter); Most Assists (233 assists): Amber Geckle (junior/Indian Valley); Best Serves (284/289 ? 98.27 percent): Maria McNett (sophomore/Canton).

Other members of coach Bambi Hawkins' championship team who contributed to the Wildcats' success: Melani Grady (sophomore/Youngsville), Erin Pillar (senior/Warren County), Liz Mast (sophomore/Twin Valley), Cara Vito (freshman/Panther Valley), Annie Allton (freshman/York Catholic), and Courtney Eisenhofer (sophomore/Schuylkill Valley).
