In-house faculty training is being offered in Finite Element Analysis, a computer-based technique that can perform a wide variety of mechanical and electrical analyses of complex objects.

In this course, faculty will learn how to use an FEA program called Algor to perform stress and thermal analyses. The course will use Algor's CAD interface; no CAD experience is required. However, the class also will cover importing solid models from Inventor and introduce mechanical event simulation

This course instructed by Thomas E. Ask, assistant professor of HVAC technology/mechanical refrigeration and design will be taught in three sessions, to be held from noon to 5:20 p.m. Sept. 3, 10 and Oct. 1 in LEC, Room A210.
