A trainer from Chief Automotive Systems provided continuing education to representatives from area auto body shops this week in Penn College's Collision Repair Lab. Penn College students were able to watch the training.
Penn College faculty members Leonard R. Filipkowski, associate professor of collision repair, and Steven T. Duna, instructor of collision repair, also participated in the two-day training on Chief's framing machine. The EZ Liner and the EZ Liner SP, which were used during the training to straighten damaged truck frames, use lasers to pinpoint damage in an automobile's frame.
"The instructors are getting updated with the latest techniques as it comes off the line from the factory," Filipkowski said.
Duna contacted Jim Wrigley, a trainer for Chief, last fall to schedule training sessions. This is the fourth time this year that Wrigley has conducted a session at Penn College. About 21 Collision Repairstudentswatched the training.
