Corman, Marino to Speak: Penn College Slates Commencement Ceremonies May 15

State Sen. Jake Corman and Lycoming County District Attorney Thomas Marino will provide keynote addresses at Pennsylvania College of Technology's two commencement exercises on Saturday, May 15.
The ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. Corman, a 1990 graduate of the College, will speak in the morning. Marino, a 1983 graduate of the College, will deliver the afternoon's address.
More than 700 students have petitioned to graduate as part of the Spring '99 class; more than 600 have announced their intention to participate in commencement exercises. Graduates in the schools of Construction and Design Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources, and Transportation Technology will participate in the 10 a.m. ceremony. Graduates from the schools of Business and Computer Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, and Industrial and Engineering Technologies will take part in the 2:30 p.m. event.
Student speakers also will address the gatherings. The morning session will feature Christopher Blanco, South Williamsport, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., who is graduating with a B.S. degree in automotive technology management. Joy Kinley, Cogan Station, who is earning an associate degree in nursing, will offer the afternoon student speech.
Other highlights of the May 15 ceremonies include the presentation of diplomas and student awards, as well as the announcement of the College's Distinguished Teaching Awards and the Alumnus of the Year. A reception for students and their guests will be held between the two ceremonies in the Susquehanna Room on the Penn College campus.
