Penn College Honors Students at Winter Commencement

Pennsylvania College of Technology honored the following student award winners during winter commencement exercises conducted on Dec. 18.

ACADEMIC VICE PRESIDENT/PROVOST AWARD for scholastic achievement and service to the College: Lora J. Dgien, applied human services, Williamsport.

LEWIS H. BARDO MEMORIAL AWARD to a student who exemplifies the ideals of Lewis H. Bardo (devotion to duty, helpfulness to others, friendliness, high ideals): Debra Lynne Welch, office administration specialist, Howard.

DALE RUSS BERG AWARD for proficiency in the operation and use of heavy equipment: Daniel Lewis Brown, heavy construction equipment technology, Loysville.

BW/IP INTERNATIONAL, INC. AWARD for scholastic achievement in a certificate program in applied arts and sciences: Debra Ann Day, practical nursing, Wellsboro.

DRAFTING FACULTY AWARD to a graduating drafting student, chosen by the faculty, who has demonstrated scholastic achievement, interest in the field, and potential for success in the future: Michael A. Zerby, computer-aided drafting technology, Danville.

ELECTRICAL EXCELLENCE AWARD, sponsored by Schaedler Bros., Inc., to the electrical occupations student chosen by the College to have exhibited outstanding capabilities in his or her course of study: Eric Michael Adams, electrical occupations, Catawissa.

GREEN HOME AWARD FOR GERIATRIC NURSING presented to the student who demonstrated outstanding performance in caring for the geriatric patient: Carrie R. Moore, practical nursing, Wellsboro.

BETH ANN LAMB MEMORIAL AWARD to the graduate who exhibits a commitment to the radiography program and love of the profession: Lisa Anne Patt, radiography, Montoursville.

THELMA S. MORRIS AWARD presented to the student who has demonstrated outstanding qualities of a practical nurse in the clinical area: Amy Lynn Payne, practical nursing, Nelson.

THE OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT FACULTY AWARD to the student who has demonstrated dedicated service to the program: George L. Keiser, Jr., occupational therapy assistant, Newark, Del.

THE OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT PROGRAM AWARD to the student who demonstrates outstanding academic achievement: Jo Anne Elizabeth Bloom, occupational therapy assistant, Sunbury, and Lori J. Swanger, occupational therapy assistant, Sunbury.

THE OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT PROGRAM AWARD to the student who demonstrates the most improvement and professional growth: Kristie Myers, occupational therapy assistant, Lock Haven.

SOLDIERS AND SAILORS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL RUTH ETNER AWARD presented to the student who demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement and exceptional ability in the clinical area: Debra Ann Day, practical nursing, Wellsboro.

SOLDIERS AND SAILORS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL MEDICAL STAFF AWARD presented to the student who demonstrated extraordinary personal growth and who made significant progress in the clinical area: Kathleen Davis, practical nursing, Tioga.

WILLIAM J. STITZEL MEMORIAL AWARD for the graduate from the heavy construction equipment major who best exemplifies William J. Stitzel's dedication and service to the College and the student body: Matthew J. Smith, heavy construction equipment technology, Lock Haven.

THE WOODLANDS BANK AWARD to the student in the computer science area with a secondary emphasis toward a career in either banking or business administration: Vicki L. Byers, office information systems, Muncy.
