Welding Department Certified as National Testing Facility

    The welding department at Pennsylvania College of Technology is now accredited by the American Welding Society as a National Testing Facility for welders.

    The department has met all of the society's requirements for Accreditation of Test Facilities for a Certified Welder Program.

    "The tests, of course, are a necessary qualification for almost anyone seeking employment," explained Dr. Eric Albert, dean of the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies at Penn College. "Not only can we offer this to our students before graduation, making them all the more valuable to an employer, but we can also test and recertify those currently in the trade."

    Welders can arrange testing by contacting Penn College's Technology Transfer Center, at (570) 326-4775.
