Jason Embick's background is in industrial maintenance, specifically HVAC, combustion testing, electrical systems, and building controls. Jason is a certified instructor for building science and energy conservation courses that apply to both the commercial and residential building sectors. Jason instructs over 30 courses, including all coursework for the Home Energy Professional (HEP) training programs, Building Operator Certification (BOC) Level I and II, Commercial Building Re-tuning, and OSHA Construction Industry. Jason’s certifications include HEP Retrofit Installer Technician, HEP Crew Leader, HEP Quality Control Inspector, BPI Building Analyst and Envelope Professional, EPA Certified Lead Renovator, and Level I Thermographer.
Prior to working at Penn College, Jason worked for nearly 20 years in the industrial maintenance field as a Quality Assurance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Controls Specialist, and a Continuous Improvement trainer for new mechanics. Jason earned several Penn College degrees in Industrial Maintenance Technology, Electromechanical Maintenance Technology, and Electrical Technology. His numerous industry credentials include NFPA 70E Arc Flash Site trainer, Wonderware HMI, Continuous Improvement Master Trainer, and experience with many types of building automation systems and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
