Career Day brought hundreds of ninth-12th graders to campus on Thursday to explore more than 30 activities offered by employees and students to help high-schoolers learn about the wide variety of career options available to them. The recent Dinner & Auction hosted by the Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation raised $100,354 for student scholarships, the second consecutive time the event has cleared the $100,000 fundraising threshold. Held every other year, the Dinner & Auction has generated a total of $686,527 spread over a dozen events held since 1994.
The “tomorrow makers” of Pennsylvania College of Technology attracted 458 companies and organizations to campus for a recent two-day Fall Career Fair. The employers – including 27 Fortune 500 companies – offered nearly 4,900 job and internship opportunities to the 1,942 students who attended the event at the college’s Field House and Bardo Gymnasium.
The Financial Aid Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology is offering free assistance for current and future college students and their families to complete the 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The college is hosting FAFSA completion sessions on its main campus to assist with the online application.
A National Endowment for the Arts grant of $15,000 will support “Material Matters,” a series of exhibitions, artist residencies and workshops focusing on materials from Pennsylvania’s history. The series is developed and presented by The Gallery at Penn College. “We are so fortunate to have the support of the NEA to develop this exciting program,” said Penny Griffin Lutz, gallery director.
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s rich history of turning today’s eager learners into the highly skilled workforce of tomorrow will be on ample display during an Oct. 27 Open House. The college will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for prospective students and their families to delve into scores of bachelor’s, associate and certificate programs.
