When a number of students asked to have their instructor on the Tomorrow Makers podcast, the hosts just had to say, “Yes!”
Meet information technology faculty member Rick Crossen in "Inspired by IT" and learn about the endless ways he embraces the Penn College community and is motivated to enhance the student experience.
In the energizing conversation, Crossen shares everything from his instructional approach to his interest in AI, his life-changing car accident to his lofty goal of running 1,000 miles in 2025.
This educator's journey to information technology began, typically enough, as a kid playing video games and evolved with IT classes in high school, where he benefitted from Penn College's Dual Enrollment courses (formerly known as "Penn College NOW") and has since come full circle, teaching that class.
Thanks to his high school networking teacher, who encouraged him to apply for a faculty position at Penn College, Crossen is experiencing "the most directly rewarding job I've had." Seeing his students' steady improvements is immensely satisfying.
