WNEP reporter Elizabeth Worthington traveled to Bald Birds Brewing Co. in Jersey Shore – site of the new Penn College Brewing & Fermentation Research Lab – on Thursday for a series of live interviews between 4:30 and 7 a.m.

She talked with Justin M. Ingram, associate professor of biology, and Bald Birds owner Joey Feerrar in two-minute segments that aired every half-hour during the morning show – segments that were later compiled for video presentation.

Ingram talks with Worthington about "the science of beer."

"(W)e look at pH turbidity. We look at alcohol. We look at the bitterness," Ingram told Worthington during the predawn visit. "We're really trying to get a fingerprint or a snapshot of what each individual beer does and trying to learn from that fingerprint to make better, more consistent products."
