WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT THE INDUSTRY YOU SERVE?

Because automation software is needed in a variety of industries, there are never two projects that are exactly the same! It is always interesting to see how customers are leveraging our product, Ignition, in many different ways. It is especially rewarding when a user takes Ignition and creates something that has never been done before.

WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT YOUR COMPANY'S CULTURE/MISSION?

Inductive Automation's commitment to educating and employing the next generation of engineers is unique in the industry.

HOW DID YOUR COMPANY FIRST CONNECT WITH PENN COLLEGE?

Our company started working with the School of Engineering Technologies at Penn College back in 2021 and donated Ignition licensing free of charge through Inductive Automation’s Educational Engagement Program.

WHY DO YOU BELIEVE PENN COLLEGE IS A SOUND INVESTMENT? WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR RETURN?

Because of the collaboration between Inductive Automation and Penn College, we are seeing students graduating with experience in our software and a growing interest in the industrial automation field. This helps to grow our ecosystem and strengthens the use of our software in both the educational and industrial sectors.

WHAT QUALITITES DO YOU VALUE MOST WHEN RECRUITING PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI?

Communication; problem solving and critical thinking; teamwork and collaboration; adaptability and flexibility.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?

High school is the time to lay the groundwork for a successful transition to college. Focus on grades, challenge yourself, develop good study habits and be well-prepared for tests. Engage in extracurricular activities and take on leadership roles. Also, begin building your resume and list accomplishments, awards, volunteer work and jobs.
