Virtual Event: "Please Understand Me" – A Personality Discovery Workshop with Career Services
Mar 11
Wednesday, March 11, 2026
6:07–6:07 AM
Most conflict arises from a simple lack of understanding-of ourselves and of the people around us.
Inspired by the classic "Please Understand Me" approach to temperament, this session provides a practical "user manual" for your personality. By translating the complex theories of Carl Jung and David Keirsey into plain, everyday language, we move past psychological labels to focus on your unique tendencies. Instead of just giving you a code, this workshop helps you visualize the balance in your life—how you weigh logic against empathy or structure against spontaneity. By understanding these internal scales, you can better navigate your communication style, decision-making process, and professional relationships.
What We’ll Cover:
- The Four Pillars of Temperament: A clear jargon-free breakdown of the E/I, S/N, T/F, and J/P spectra.
- Tendency Over Identity: Why your results are percentages of behavior, not permanent boxes.
- Plain-Language Profiles: How to interpret your unique 16-type portrait (such as "The Mastermind" or "The Teacher") using relatable concepts rather than psychological jargon.
- Real-World Application: Practical strategies to use these insights to reduce friction in your professional and personal life.
This virtual event, "Please Understand Me": A Personality Discovery Workshop with Career Services, will be presented by Lizze Winters, Career & Professional Programming Manager. This session is Wednesday, March 11 from 12:00-1:00 PM. Please register online by Tuesday, March 10.
Your confirmation email will include the Microsoft Teams details and a link to the "Please Understand Me" assessment. To participate fully, please complete the Excel-based tool prior to the session. It will automatically calculate your scores and percentage strengths; please have your four-letter code and percentages ready, as we will dive into your specific results during the workshop.
