The Clean Energy Center made a significant impact at the National Home Performance Conference in New Orleans, which saw record attendance of over 2,800 participants. Our team highlighted the crucial role of Career & Technical Education (CTE) in building a strong workforce for the growing clean energy sector.
Mike McMonigal led the session titled "CTE: A Key Partner in Preparing Tomorrow's Weatherization Workforce," showcasing Pennsylvania's innovative initiatives. He emphasized how partnerships with CTE programs create a reliable pipeline of skilled workers to meet the demands of the home performance and energy efficiency industries.
Despite a brief interruption due to a false fire alarm, the session maintained high engagement. Mike was joined by Kiana Solomon from EGF, Mike Austin from Lehigh County Community Action, and Randy Reed from Beaver County CTC. They shared valuable insights on the benefits of collaboration between schools and employers.
The record-breaking attendance underscored the collective commitment to advancing the home performance industry. This progress is driven by dedicated educators like you, who prepare the next generation of skilled professionals. Your commitment to high-quality CTE programs is essential for the future of the clean energy sector.
