Paramedic Certificate
Penn College is committed to continuing our tradition of training exceptional Paramedics, which began with the original Williamsport Hospital Program. As we continue to assess the needs of our industry partners, the financial burdens on students, and the needs of our communities; we have realized it is time to make a change.
The Paramedic Program at Penn College is a 1-year certificate program offered through Workforce Development. This reduces the length of time to complete the program and better aligns with the needs of our industry partners and the communities they serve.
The Paramedic Program is currently enrolling students for the January 2026 cohort, with expected graduation in December 2026. Students who are not yet Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) will need to obtain their certification before entry. EMT certification may be obtained through Workforce Development in the Spring or Fall semesters or at other locations offering the course.

This course will meet the National EMS Education Standards and Instructional Guidelines for Emergency Medical Technician and prepare the participant for National Registry cognitive and psychomotor examinations at the EMT level.
