In its strongest national archery showing in a decade, Penn College won a collegiate team championship, had four All-Americans and placed fourth overall during the U.S. Intercollegiate Archery Championships May 15-18 in Atlantic City, N.J. "Finally, after nine years, it came back to Penn College," an elated Wildcats coach Chad Karstetter said of his men's compound team that edged James Madison University, 215-213, to claim the title over the weekend outdoors in on-and-off rain showers. "It was a long time coming. I was shooting for one of these (as a coach) over my career and it's finally here," continued Karstetter, in his eighth season.

Atlantic City, N.J., is known for its sand, surf and casinos. But none of them will be on the minds of 12 Penn College archers later this week when they compete there in the National Archery Association National Collegiate Championships. "After the Eastern Regionals (April 26-27), we saw some things that we needed to work on and since then we've done a lot of team rounds together," coach Chad Karstetter said. "We got some new equipment, and now we're definitely ready for the task. We're ready for nationals."

As a former player and longtime instructor, Aimee Plastow has just about done it all in the tennis world. Now, she is ready to take on a new challenge as head coach of the coed team at Penn College. "I'm really excited. It's something I've always wanted to do, to coach at the collegiate level," Plastow said. "It's an interesting format with the coed team. I think it's a very unique concept and I'm really looking forward to working with both the men and the women."
