Q&A with Coty

Questions answered by Penn College graduate Lauryn Stauffer.

WHAT EXCITES YOU ABOUT THE INDUSTRY YOU SERVE?

Manufacturing is changing every day and being able to see the positive impact it has on our products is remarkable. Working at Coty in the Technical Support Group, my days are never the same. There is something new happening every day!

WHAT DO YOU APPRECIATE MOST ABOUT YOUR COMPANY'S CULTURE/MISSION?

I appreciate that Coty is a very inclusive environment and acknowledges each employee’s contribution to the company.

HOW DID YOUR COMPANY FIRST CONNECT WITH PENN COLLEGE?

I was a student at Penn College and Coty was looking for a full-time hire and intern. Then Coty decided to move forward with working with Penn College for their training program for the technical support group. The intention is to provide more experience and help the team understand more regarding our field as well as help production lines across the plant.

WHY DO YOU BELIEVE PENN COLLEGE IS A SOUND INVESTMENT? WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR RETURN?

Penn College provides the up-to-date information students need for entering the workforce as well as the hands-on learning experience which allows students to grasp a better understanding of the course content. We value the information that is given to Penn College students and the training program for our technical support group.

WHAT QUALITITES DO YOU VALUE MOST WHEN RECRUITING PENN COLLEGE STUDENTS AND ALUMNI?

Penn College students are different compared to other institutions. These students are hardworking and determined individuals. You need those types of students in the workforce to have a company succeed! Penn College provides the latest information for students within their chosen areas, which helps graduating students be more in demand in the workforce.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU SHARE WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING PENN COLLEGE?

If you love to learn hands-on, this is the place to go to continue your education. The faculty and staff are knowledgeable and supportive, which helps students grow throughout their degree program. Penn College has many extracurriculars that help students expand their leadership and hands-on skills, which is an amazing addition to an already great experience!
Industry Connections

“At Coty we really value our partnership with Pennsylvania College of Technology. In a short time, our partnership has helped us up-skill our current technical workforce, while also helping us build pathways to recruit new talent in our organization. Finding technical talent, with the right training, aptitude and experience is a very real challenge in the manufacturing industry and our connection with Penn College is a strategic part of our talent recruitment plans.”
