New scholarships

Impact Report 2022-23

In 2022-23, Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Foundation awarded donor-funded scholarships to 573 students, totaling $1,292,901. Twenty new scholarships were established through Penn College and the foundation. Seven of them are endowed funds.

  • Frances E. Dorman Memorial Scholarship benefits female, nontraditional students enrolled in an accounting program.
  • Daniel Chapman Memorial Architecture Scholarship benefits students from Erie, Crawford, Warren, Mercer, Venango or Forest counties enrolled in an architecture program.
  • Spangle Veterans Dental Hygiene Scholarship benefits veterans who are Pennsylvania residents and enrolled in a dental hygiene major.
  • Douglas M. Puckly Memorial Scholarship benefits students enrolled in any forestry or welding associate or bachelor’s degree.
  • Brenda E. Saylor AMT Memorial Scholarship benefits students from Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, or York counties in the aviation maintenance technology bachelor’s degree major.
  • Dr. Neslihan Alp Global Experiences Fund benefits students participating in a Penn College Global Experience course.
  • Chesapeake Energy Scholarship benefits Lycoming, Sullivan, Bradford, Wyoming or Susquehanna counties students in the School of Engineering Technologies or in accounting or business management majors.
  • Howard L. Chance Memorial Scholarship benefits Pennsylvania residents who are veterans or military students.
  • Cahir Family Renaissance Scholarship benefits students who have completed two semesters of study with a 2.5 GPA or higher and have been previously marginalized by racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, gender or other adversities.
  • Flynn Graphic Design Scholarship benefits students enrolled in graphic design.
  • Flynn Math Scholarship benefits female students with a minor in math.
  • Human Services & Restorative Justice Global Experiences Fund benefits students participating in a human services & restorative justice-related Global Experience course.
  • Newcombe Scholarships for Mature Students benefit students age 25 and older who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, have completed at least half of the requirements and credits toward the degree, and have unmet financial need.
  • Grinnell Brothers’ Foundation for Freedom Scholarship benefits students who are enrolled in an automotive program and have served in the U.S. military, are on active duty, are enlisted in the reserves or National Guard, or are dependents of a veteran.
  • Johnson Controls Inc. Scholar Program benefits students pursuing an associate degree in heating, ventilation & air conditioning technology, with preference to minority, female, veteran and military students and students who are nontraditional by age.
  • Howley Foundation Scholarship benefits students who are living on campus and have graduated from one of the following Philadelphia-area high schools: Archbishop John Carroll High School, Church Farm School, Cristo Rey High School, Father Judge High School, Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, Mercy Career & Technical High School, Monsignor Bonner High School, Archbishop Prendergast High School, Saints John Newman and Maria Goretti High School, Roman Catholic High School, St. Joseph’s Preparatory High School, West Catholic Preparatory High School.
  • John M. and Lenore G. Penfield Family Scholarship benefits first-generation college students from Lycoming or Montgomery counties.
  • Lester Family Scholarship benefits out-of-state residents or international female students enrolled in: architecture; construction management; building construction; concrete science; or heating, ventilation & air conditioning.
  • Jill Fuller Snyder and Roy B. Snyder Scholarship benefits students in any major who demonstrate financial need.
  • National Fuels/Seneca Resources Endowed Scholarship benefits students in any energy- or engineering-related field.
