Location
Third floor (Room 303) of the Madigan Library. During open hours, the gallery is accessible by elevator or stairs, both located inside the front entrance of the Madigan Library.
Penn College is within three to five hours driving distance from major cities, including New York, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. The campus also is a one-hour drive from Penn State, Susquehanna, Mansfield, Lock Haven, Bloomsburg, and Bucknell universities. Campus Directions.
Parking
Visitors may use the parking lot in front of the Student and Administrative Services Center (SASC). Limited parking is available behind the Madigan Library.
Tours
Exhibition tours and visits for groups can be arranged by e-mailing gallery@pct.edu, or calling 570-320-2445.
If you would like to visit the gallery outside the normal operating hours, e-mail or call the gallery with date, time, and purpose of the visit and you will be contacted by gallery staff. Two days notice is suggested.
Exhibits in The Gallery
The Gallery at Penn College strives to be an important instructional resource for students and a cultural asset to Pennsylvania College of Technology and local communities. The Gallery is dedicated to promoting art appreciation and understanding through its exhibitions of traditional and contemporary art in a variety of media. The Gallery upholds the mission of Penn College and offers opportunities to develop intellectually, ethically, socially, culturally, and personally. Throughout the year, The Gallery is host to numerous exhibitions and events that range from local collections to international traveling exhibitions. Exhibits typically include a meet the artist reception and gallery talk. Entries are juried and selected by a committee of dedicated faculty, staff and community members.
In Perfect Harmony
The Concert Series in The Gallery at Penn College provides an opportunity to hear live music while viewing original artwork.
The annual Penn College Proud Showcase features artwork or personal collections of members of the Penn College, Williamsport Area Community College, and Williamsport Technical Institute family, including alumni, faculty and staff, and retirees.
Pennsylvania Artisan Trail
The Gallery at Penn College is a destination on the Pennsylvania Artisan Trail. Route 15 ByWay of the Arts is one of several Artisan Trails located in scenic traffic corridors throughout the state. The Artisan Trails offer guided weekend packages and self-guided road trips provided by select lodging, dining, and artisan partners. Each Trail attempts to capture the unique essence of its local area.
Other Destinations
While on the campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology, visit Le Jeune Chef, a fine-dining restaurant offering a gourmet menu that changes daily and the area's most extensive wine list.
Downtown Williamsport is home to one of the East Coast's finest performance venues: The Community Arts Center. This restored 1928 theatre has seen over 700 shows since reopening in 1993.
