The Dental Hygiene Program offered by the School of Nursing & Health Sciences at Pennsylvania College of Technology conducts a Dental Hygiene Clinic – open to the public – during the school year, typically September through April. Clinic sessions are scheduled Monday–Friday at various times throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening.
The services performed in the Dental Hygiene Clinic are preventive. They do not replace regular or extensive dental care. The results of oral examinations, including radiographs, may be forwarded to your dentist.
Services are rendered by students and carefully evaluated by faculty. As such, treatment in the clinic proceeds more slowly than in a dental office. Generally, preventive treatment appointments are two to four hours in length. Patients may require more than one visit to complete their treatment.

Sealants will be placed on an as-needed basis and will not be placed when tooth decay is present.
Staffed by licensed dental hygienists and dentists, the clinic provides an opportunity for Penn College Dental Hygiene students to put their skills to work in a clinical environment. The students have extensive training prior to their clinical experience and must demonstrate competency in clinical skills before providing patient care.
Dental Hygiene students have a certain amount of time set aside to complete their clinical requirements. Their time, like yours, is very valuable. If you must cancel an appointment, please give at least 24 hours notice by calling the clinic at 570-327-4500. Patients will be dismissed from the clinic for excessive cancellations or tardiness.
