Michelle Finn

Ms. Finn joined the Penn College Counseling Services staff in August 2019. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is a Williamsport native. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Social Work from Marywood University. Prior to coming to Pennsylvania College of Technology, Ms. Finn worked for Lycoming Clinton Joinder Board in a variety of different positions. In addition, she is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and QPR Trainer.

Ms. Finn’s area of interest include depression, anxiety, trauma, attachments, life transitions/adjustments, and self-esteem enhancement. Her approach to therapy integrates Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered, and Trauma Informed Care Therapy. She believes that one must consider the whole person –physically, emotionally, and psychiatrically for true healing to occur. She utilizes the strengths-based model to assist clients in identifying personal strengths, skills and resources along with identifying goals, barriers and developing action plans.
