Pennsylvania College of Technology automation students will benefit from a recent partnership with a European software company.

Clarify, based in Norway, is donating access to its cloud-based system for visualizing industrial data. The system will be used by students seeking a bachelor’s degree in automation engineering technology: robotics & automation.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students seeking a bachelor’s degree in automation engineering technology: robotics & automation will have access to a cloud-based system for visualizing industrial data, thanks to a partnership with Clarify, a Norwegian company. “Account privileges have been provided to me by Clarify so I can enter data and create individual scenarios for all of my students,” said Jeffrey L. Rankinen, associate professor of electronics and computer engineering technology. “Exposure to this novel approach of working with industrial data will provide another problem-solving tool for our automation students.”

About 40 students per academic year will have access to data facilitated by the Clarify agreement, according to Rankinen.

“We are excited for this partnership with Clarify to help our students grow in their understanding of different software in the automation industry,” said Elizabeth A. Biddle, senior corporate relations director.

Founded in 2012 on the principle of building bridges between people and data, Clarify’s mission is to foster organizational improvement by enabling data-driven decision-making, collaboration and innovation.

“Clarify is excited to announce its first official academic partnership with Pennsylvania College of Technology,” stated Alex MacDonald, senior account executive. “Clarify is a powerful collaborative platform for trend analysis and is a container for predictive maintenance and machine learning solutions.”
