Penn College Fall Commencement set for Dec. 17 at CAC

Nearly 300 students have petitioned to graduate following the Fall 2022 semester at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The college will hold a commencement ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Community Arts Center.

The student speaker for the ceremony will be Maci Nicole Ilgen, of Spring Mills, who will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in nursing. A Dean’s List student, Ilgen is a member of Penn College’s Omega Theta chapter of Sigma (Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing) and the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. She was also a 2022 Awesome Woman Exemplar awardee at Penn College. As a member of the women’s basketball team, Ilgen was named to the United East conference’s All-Sportsmanship Team and earned United East Scholar-Athlete honors.



Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold a Fall 2022 Commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. Additionally, Ilgen participated in a Global Healthcare Explorations course volunteer trip to a medically underserved region of Guatemala, helping to provide services in a weeklong clinic there. After graduation, she will begin working at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in the Pediatric Surgical Care Unit.

During the ceremony, the college will present an Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award to Anthony J. Peachey, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration: marketing concentration from Penn College in 2009, graduating summa cum laude. He is the senior marketing manager at Construction Specialties Inc., Muncy. The Alumni Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes an alumnus or alumna who has generously volunteered time and talent at Penn College events and activities.

Penn College President Michael J. Reed will be joined by Steven P. Johnson, who serves on the college’s Board of Directors, in conferring degrees and certificates upon the graduates.
