Adults age 55 and older who want to learn more about using computers for fun and convenience may enroll in a noncredit course to be offered in October at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s North Campus near Wellsboro.

This easy beginners’ class, available through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College, introduces the computer for enjoyment purposes. The class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, Oct. 9 and 23, in the North Campus computer lab.

The instructor will lead participants through entertaining games, emailing friends and family, surfing the Internet, social networking, basic word-processing for letter-writing, and other enjoyable and practical applications.

Due to the popularity of the beginners’ class, Part 2 of Computer Camp for Adults 55+ will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays, Nov. 1 and 8. Anyone who has taken Computer Camp for Seniors or Computer Camp for Adults may sign up.

The cost for each class is $79. No computer knowledge is necessary.

The North Campus is located on Route 6, three miles east of Wellsboro. Convenient, street-level and handicap-accessible parking are available at the rear of the building.
