College to Host Information Session for Post-9/11 GI Bill Benefits

Representatives from the state Department of Education: Veterans/Military Education Division will be on hand May 4 at Pennsylvania College of Technology to present the most up-to-date information about the Post-9/11 GI Bill-Chapter 33.
The free session will provide details about the education benefits available to those who are serving or who have served in the military.
Topics to be discussed include the amount of funding assistance available for tuition and fees, the basic housing allowance, and books and supplies. Eligibility requirements/criteria also will be addressed. A question-and-answer period will follow.
"We scheduled this session because we want our veterans to make good, informed decisions when it comes to their veteran education benefits," said Joann Kay, coordinator of veterans' affairs at Penn College.
Though the session is open to the public, pre-registration is required, and seating is limited. It will be offered from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Presentation Room on the first floor of the Student and Administrative Services Center at Penn College.
