Call for Entries/Eligibility
The Gallery at Penn College is accepting submissions for the 2018 Regional Juried Exhibition. This open themed exhibition will showcase emerging and established contemporary artists over the age of 18 living within 100 miles of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Original 2 & 3-dimensional art completed since 2015 in any medium may be submitted, including but not limited to: painting, works on paper, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, fiber, ceramic, photography, digital art, video art, mixed media, wood, glass, metal, and installation art. Over $1,500 in cash prizes will be awarded.

Entry fee: $15 for up to three works (non-refundable)
Up to three original works may be submitted per artist. Up to two details/alternate views may be submitted per piece, therefore an artist may upload up to nine files. Files must be under 3MB and jpg format only.

Payments are accepted online through PayPal, by credit card, or a check may be mailed to The Gallery at Penn College. Entry fees not received by midnight on December 1, 2017 will not be juried. If you have any problems with the payment system, please contact The Gallery at Penn College.
Art must be original.
Only juror accepted work will be exhibited; no substitutions.
All work must remain on exhibit until the end of the exhibit, July 27, 2018.
Entry of artwork and payment of entry fee do not guarantee acceptance into exhibit.
Accepted work must be professionally presented and installation-ready.
All work submitted for jurying must be available for exhibition.
All entries must be original works completed since 2015.
Artists must be over the age of 18.
Artists must live within 100 miles of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. This radius is measured using geodesic distance (distance as the crow flies).
Artwork must be able to fit through a 46-inch wide doorway, and may not exceed 11 feet in height.
Note: freight elevator is 93” l, 69” w, 106” h, and holds 4500 lbs. No other size restrictions.
All works will be insured against theft and damage at the stated insurance value from the time of their delivery to the time of their departure. Pennsylvania College of Technology may photograph, telecast, or reproduce the entries for educational, catalogue and publicity purposes, giving credit to the owner.
Shipping/Transportation of Artwork
Artists are responsible for delivery of artwork and any associated shipping costs to and from the exhibit. Art should be sent in sturdy, reusable containers for safe shipping. Artwork may also be hand-delivered during open Gallery hours (see website for hours). Work must be retrieved within eight weeks of the closing date of exhibit.
All artwork must be delivered to gallery between March 13 - April 18, 2018
The Gallery reserves the right to reject works that have been inaccurately represented by the slide/digital image. Works must be received ready for installation: work must be framed, matted, wired, etc. The Gallery reserves the right to reject works for exhibition that are not original, are deemed extraordinarily fragile or unstable, or are not installation ready.
Artwork may be for display/exhibition only or for sale at the sole discretion of the artist. The Gallery at Penn College will not transact the sale of any work, but will make prices available upon request. No commission will be collected, and buyers will be referred to the artist. All work must remain in the gallery until the end of the exhibition.
Juror of Selection
Scott Dimond, curator for visual arts, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art.
Scott Dimond attended the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Chicago before going on to earn a Ph.D. in the history of art from the University of Pennsylvania. A specialist in American art and material culture, he has held positions in several museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Currier Museum of Art, NH; and the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, ME. Since 2010, Dr. Dimond has served as curator for visual arts at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Loretto, PA.
Our goal is to make the process of jurying efficient and fair. The independent juror will select the works of art to be included in the exhibition from the qualified entries. All work accepted is the result of the decision of the judge based on the merit of each individual submission. We anticipate accepting 40 - 45 works for the exhibit.
Juror of Awards:
Ann Piper, visual artist and associate professor at Susquehanna University
Ann Piper earned a BFA in General Fine Arts from Maryland Institute, College of Art and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from New Mexico State University. She previously taught drawing and painting at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas. Ms. Piper is currently an Associate Professor of Studio Art at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
Over $1,500 in cash prizes will be awarded.

Artwork delivered to gallery: March 13 - April 18, 2018 during regular gallery hours or other times by appointment
Exhibit opening reception: Sunday, June 3, 2018, 2 -5 p.m., Awards at 3 p.m.

Work returned to artists: starting July 31
The Gallery at Penn College will be closed July 1 – 4, 2018

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Please note that these are not the hours for delivery in March & April.
