Lace up! From light and fast evening jaunts to epic multi-day treks, North Central PA has you covered for great hikes. Looking for an evening run? Try Racoon Mountain, just minutes south of campus. Maybe you prefer rocky ascents and mountain streams with amazing scenery. The nearby Loyalsock Trail rivals the best. So many more are within an hour's drive, we can't list them all.

There's nothing like hanging with friends on a night out under the stars. The area offers traditional campgrounds such as Ricketts Glen and World's End State Parks. For a real getaway, primitive camping is available across hundreds of thousand of acres in all directions. When you really need a break, it doesn't get any better than the Pine Creek area northwest of campus.

Kayaking & Fishing

With the West Branch Susquehanna River practically a stone's throw from campus and some of the finest Class A Wild Trout Streams around, there's every reason to spend some time in or on the water.

When you need a quick escape, a walk along the Susquehanna River Walk & Timber Trail is the perfect fix. In a circuit of just over four miles, the trail connects Penn College to both sides of the river, downtown, the Golden Strip, and the Little League World Series and South Williamsport park complexes.
