Study of basic exercise science and principles of exercise when working with an at-risk population for lifestyle diseases. Emphasis on exercise prescriptions for the lifestyle disease categories, in addition to Type II diabetes, stress, osteoporosis and cancer. Applied skills include record keeping, health history intake, medical referral, fitness assessments, and exercise prescription modification. Compliance with the legal statutes of the fitness field will be addressed. 3 Credits (3 Lecture) Prerequisite(s): PFS213 and PFS214. Spring Only.
