Professional Role Development for Advanced Nursing Practice


Exploration of advanced nursing practice roles within current health-care systems. Emphasis on preparing professional nurses to assume leadership roles within interprofessional teams and various health-care settings to effectively implement change. Topics include leadership and management, interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, patient advocacy, civility, nurse-client relationships, professional standards of practice, and role delineation. Students will be required to spend eight hours shadowing a master’s prepared nurse in a health-care setting of their choice.
