Leadership and Management for the Practicing RN
Examine concepts related to the role of leadership and management within the discipline of nursing. Fifteen hours of Independent practice experiences focus on leading and managing problem solving processes to improve the delivery of nursing care. Consideration given to current resource utilization and interprofessional collaboration within the context of nursing theory and evidenced-based practice. Standards of care, ethical and legal principles, delivery of culturally competent practices in consumer-centered care influence the development of the nurse leader. Various opportunities to collaborate and evaluate concepts using current standards of professional nursing practice exist throughout the course.
