Introduction to acute medical-surgical nursing concepts with the progression of intermediate practical nursing skills. Application of planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in response to systematic client disorders. The use of effective interpersonal communication skills with clients, their families, and members of the health care team is expected. Pharmacological principles and rationale to be applied during supervised medication administration. Begin formulation and implementation of client centered care plans. Focus on beginning practice level to function as a contributing member of the nursing team while caring for assigned clients with needs of basic complexity in various clinical setting. 7 Credits (4 Lecture - 6 Lab - 3 Clinical) Prerequisite(s): BIO125 and NUR156.
