Fundamentals of Practical Nursing


Introduction to fundamental practical nursing concepts, including its philosophy and objectives. Introduction of the role and responsibilities of the student practical nurse. Topics include physical, social, emotional and psychological needs, along with developmental characteristics across the age span from birth to death. Focuses on client needs, health concepts, and basic fundamental skills. Introduction of the process of planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. In addition, math for pharmacology is reviewed for medication administration. There is a minimum of 90 hours lab and 45 hours clinical scheduled for this course. Fall-First 8 Weeks.
