Introduction to Human Services
Examination of the range of human problems, and the programs and systems designed to help individuals address problems. Exploring the roles professionals might assume as human service workers and participating in a supervised field experience are also a part of the course. In addition to the in-class time and supervised 30-hour field experience, a mandatory outside-of-class one and a half hour seminar meeting to review the professional and personal responsibility requirements for successful completion of the program is also required. Remediation of English and reading deficiencies required prior to enrolling in this course. 3 Credits (3 Lecture) Prerequisite(s): Placement by Examination or ENL001 and Placement by Examination or RDG111.
